Sortspring Files

Also known as Spiral Files, Spring Files, or Transfer Files, these extremely popular files are widely used as working paper files to allow the insertion or retraction of file paperwork without the need to remove all papers from the file, with the advantage that unlike lever arch files these files only expand and occupy space as and when they are filled with papers.

We regularly manufacture these in heavyweight 485gsm manilla which makes a really hard wearing and robust file. We are also able to print the covers to individual requirements to allow work details to be written in, and often at no extra printing charge we can include company logos for that final professional finish. To complete the file, we can also offer to produce a customised printed divider set that can be supplied pre-mounted within the file ready for use.

How these files work is simple and effective

The two filing springs are released and inserted over the two ends of the transfer bar to form a bridge that allows papers to be transferred from one side to the other. The springs are pulled out leaving papers on the transfer bar which then allows the insertion or removal of the papers at the right place within the file. The springs are refitted to the transfer bar and the papers are returned back into the final position.
